Product Description
One of the best ways to use oxalic acid vaporization for bees is with our OA Vaporizer. It is a proven method for organically removing bee mites. This tool produces vapors of oxalic acid under controlled conditions. The vapors penetrate the hive to target varroa mites in the brood box.
Managing varroa mites is an essential work for any beekeeper. Beekeepers typically use vaporizing or dribble methods to apply oxalic acid. The advantage of vaporation is that you can apply a treatment without opening the hive. This is true when the weather in your area is close to freezing temperatures in winter. Additionally, oxalic acid vapor is less toxic to both adult and young bees.
For OA Vaporizer, you can use it in conjunction with our Myth-Bee oxalic acid crystals. Simply load 1~3 grams of oxalic acid crystals into the heating pan. Insert the vaporizer into the hive, and block the entrances to prevent vapor loss. The device connects to a 12V battery and heats the acid to the necessary temperature to release the vapor. After a brief treatment period, we can see dead mites at the bottom of the beehive.
Looking for oxalic acid vaporizers for sale? Our OA vaporizer is a passive unit, which means it is safer for beekeepers. Active fumigators, on the other hand, use fans to force fumes into the bee colonies. However, oxalic acid vapor will overflow from the hive, so beekeepers must take additional precautions.
